ICON MARINA

The coastline of the Granadas province is called Costa Tropical and has the same beautiful climate as the Nerja area. The high mountains in the mountain range in the area makes the subtropical climate zone that is unique in Europe, and is protecting the coastline from cold weather in the winter and the worst heat in the summer. The climate in the winter is pleasant, around 20 degrees in the days. During the summer the temperature rises to about 30-35 degrees. Farmers in the area cultivate a lot of tropical fruits such as chirimoya, mango and avocado, but there are also a lot of citrus fruits grown and there are a few vineyards in the area.

It is about 70 kilometers to Málaga and 15 kilometers to Nerja.

The mountain range in the area is called Sierra Nevada and is a large national park with peaks of over 3400 meters above sea level. Here is Europe's southernmost ski resort that offers really good skiing. The season is about 5-6 months long. There are also cross-country trails in the area. On the southern slope of the mountain is the Alpujarras area and the mountain villages are known for their artisan crafts as well as for their airdried hams of high-quality.

It is the shape of the bay of La Herradura, which has named the resort, which means "horseshoe" in Spanish. There are plenty of fishermen in the village so the availability of day-to-day seafood is good. There are plenty of restaurants along the long beach of La Herradura which serves both local fish dishes and other great food. Next to the village is a hilly peninsula called Punta de la Mona and there are many luxurious villas. At Punta de la Mona there is also a marina called Marina del Este. In the area around the marina there are several restaurants, bars and also a diving center. The beach in this area has a beach restaurant and this beach is a popular place for divers since reef next to it has a rich maritime life.
